Airing right after American Idol, audiences will be eager to dive into the world of magic from ABC’s newest crime drama, Deception, starring Jack Cutmore-Scott and Ilfenesh Hadera. Get ready to fight crime and learn a few magic tricks alongside magician Cameron Black (Scott) and FBI agent Kay Daniels (Hadera).

The career of superstar Las Vegas magician Cameron Black (Jack Cutmore-Scott) may have been ruined by scandal. But he’s found another place to put his skills of deception, influence and illusion to use; the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As a consulting illusionist, Cameron uses every trick at his disposal — inventing new ones as necessary — to help the government catch the world’s most elusive criminals and solve crimes that defy all explanation.

Here are 5 reasons we’re excited to watch Deception on ABC:

5) The Chemistry!

After seeing her in Baywatch, actress Ilfenesh Hadera definitely owns her badassdom as the  tough and no-nonsense Kay Daniels. Jack Cutmore-Scott (Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life) brings in the laughs and magic as Cameron Black, who’s all about spectacle and thrilling audiences. She’s not his sidekick, they’re partners!

4) It’s Blindspot Meets Legends of Tomorrow!

Do you love the action from Blindspot? Do you enjoy the team drama and comedy behind Legends of Tomorrow? Now imagine a show that combines the minds of creators Martin Gero and Greg Berlanti! Plus add a dash of magic from Chuck writer/producer Chris Fedak and you’ve got the ingredients of an awesome must-see TV show!

3) The Ensemble Cast!

Are you a fan of Prison Break? Then you’re going to love that the actor, Amaury Nolasco, who played Fernando Sucre is also on Deception! Nolasco will be playing FBI Agent Mike Alvarez and Vinnie Jones, the toughest footballer ever, plays Gunter Gastafsen, the world’s greatest illusion builder.

2) Who Doesn’t Love Magic!

Remember, magic is all about misdirection. There’s always an angle, some open floorboard, that explains how the trick was pulled off. Who am I kidding!?! I also want to pick out a poker card and make it burst into flames!

1) It’s On After American Idol!

The perfect follow-up, Deception will be airing right after American Idol, featuring Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie as music judges. Having seen the pilot at the New York Comic Con, I can definitely saw audiences are in for a magical treat when they stick around and watch the action-packed premiere of Deception!

Deception premieres on ABC at 10pm on March 11, 2018.
