After making her highly anticipated appearance in the Arrowverse crossover, Elseworlds. The CW Network has announced the pilot order for Batwoman starring Ruby Rose. Check out what’s next for the DC Comics heroine after the crossover event with The Flash, Supergirl, and Arrow

When Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) wake up, the duo realize they have swapped bodies with each other. The two set off to find out what disturbed the timeline to cause such a shift. After Barry and Oliver realize they need Supergirl (Melissa Benoist)’s help, their mission sends them towards Gotham City.

SPOILERS AHEAD! Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for the Batwoman pilot:

5) The Pilot Order!

@CWArrow

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW is definitely moving forward with a Batwoman series. The CW drama comes from showrunner/writer Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) and executive producer Greg Berlanti (Titans). Dries will executive produce alongside Berlanti and his Warner Bros. TV-based Berlanti Productions heads, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns.

4) The Backdoor Pilot!

The Arrow episode of the crossover event also served as a backdoor pilot for a Batwoman series. Writers Caroline Dries and Marc Guggenheim incorporated elements from the comic book and adapted the female caped crusader to modern times. The socio-economic commentary reflected how the one percenters were losing and how the wealthy corrupted politics.

3) David Nutter Is Directing!

David Nutter is a really big deal in the television industry because the Emmy-winning Game of Thrones director helmed pilots for The Flash, Arrow, Supernatural, The X-Files, and Deception.  Notice how all all of these pilots have gone to series. Plus, you had me at X-Files!

2) Ruby Rose!

For those in the back, I’m going to scream it out loud! Ruby Rose nailed the look and performance of Kate Kate in her short screen time. Kate was flirty and smooth when Ruby’s Kane met with Benoist’s Supergirl. Even after kicking butt, Batwoman manages to throw out her unwanted guests from Gotham.

1) The Theme!

Not only did composer Blake Neely come up with the theme music for Arrow, Blindspot, and Riverdale, he also put together Batwoman’s theme! I loved that moment in Elseworlds when Kate (Rose) walked into the Batcave and the drums kicked into high gear.

Elseworlds can be seen on the CW app or On Demand.
