An excellent installment, WWE NXT Takeover: Into The Fire #1 (BOOM! Studios) will definitely surprise readers and fans as Paige and Asuka wrestle for their undivided attention! Wrestling fans are definitely going to enjoy the unpredictable behind-the-scenes theatrics from their favorite superstars!
The event keeps on rolling, as The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka, begins her rise to the NXT Women’s Championship,.

NXT became WWE’s third global brand, which became the launching pad to Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Braun Strowman, Alexa Bliss and many more! In The Blueprint, Dusty Rhodes was the omniscient narrator who occasionally broke the fourth wall. In Proving Ground, Samoa Joe struggles finding the motivation to get into the ring.
4) The Writing!
What I love about writer Dennis Hopeless is how he spotlights the narrative through two female perspectives. Paige is the active observer, taking in the audience drive. Asuka is active in the wrestling ring, taking in the audience reaction. Letterer Jim Campbell captures the emotional points from Paige’s internal narration.
3) The Artwork!
Artist Hyeonjin Kim captures the fierce competition between Asuka and Paige. In closeups, Asuka gives a fierce look, even though she doesn’t say anything. Kim then captures the hits and kicks when the action takes place outside the ring.
2) The Colors!
Notice how colorist Wesley Manoel captures the bright spotlights during the wrestling match. Manoel even changes the shades and tones when Paige revisits her past.
