Lennie James, known as Morgan on The Walking Dead, will be crossing over to the other AMC drama, Fear The Walking Dead for Season 4. Let’s take an in-depth look and talk about what Morgan’s upcoming crossover means for both shows.

As we previously mentioned, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) has declared war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Alexandria has joined with the survivors of the Hilltop and the Kingdom against Sanctuary. After the loss of crucial members of his team, Rick is more than ready for some payback against Negan and the Saviors.

[SPOILERS Ahead] Here are 5 reasons we’re excited for Lennie James on Fear The Walking Dead:

5) New Eyes!

During the Talking Dead after-show, host Chris Hardwick read aloud showrunner Scott M. Gimple’s statement, “Morgan’s arc on ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 positioned him for the story on ‘Fear.’ It was also important to see ‘Fear’s’ world and characters through new yet familiar eyes.”

4) A BIG Death Taking Place!?!

In the comics, Morgan isn’t even around for All-Out War. Morgan doesn’t even meet Negan in the comics. James hinted he said his good-byes to the cast and crew on Talking Dead. On the TV show though, will Morgan end up in a climatic showdown against Negan and his bat known as Lucille?

3) Duane’s Return?

According to Variety, Fear The Walking Dead takes place earlier in the timeline from Walking Dead. It is possible that Morgan’s appearance will be a flashback, filling up the void before his return in Clear. If this is a prequel, then that means we get to find out what happened to Morgan’s son, Duane (originally played by Adrian Kali Turner).

2)The New Cast!

Lennie James joins a new ensemble cast, which includes newcomers Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman. This is definitely a familiar face meeting new ones. I’m very excited to see Morgan meeting Daniel (Ruben Blades)! In the above photo, we see Lennie James at a table read, along with his new Fear co-stars Colman Domingo, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey.

1) A Fear Reboot!

Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg (shown here with James) are taking over from Dave Erickson as showrunners on Fear the Walking Dead. It does feel like this fourth season is starting off from scratch. This does feel like an obvious ploy to bring the Walking Dead audience, in hopes they will follow Morgan onto the spinoff. Will it work though? We have to  wait and find out.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC. Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead has already started production.
