From the comic book pages of IDW Publishing to the television screen, Locke & Key has scored an official series order from Netflix. Still in the works, the new Netflix drama comes with new scripts and cast members as Locke & Key arrives at its latest streaming destination.
Based on the comic book by writer Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez, Nina (Frances O’Connor) moves with her three childcare after the gruesome murder of her husband, their father. They end up staying at their ancestral home in Massachusetts. This house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. A devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.

According to Variety, Netflix has ordered a 10-episode first season for the hour-long series. The project was revived after leaving Hulu, who passed on the pilot. Netflix is redeveloping the show with new scripts and a new cast. Staying on with the project is It co-star Jackson Robert Scott.
4) The Netflix Audience!
Netflix knows its demographic, especially with their horror/family dramas, such as Stranger Things and Lost in Space. It’s safe to know Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode Locke will stay in the storefront and won’t be dumbed down. It also makes sense that Netflix would fit the show towards the audience, much like how Black Lightning moved from Fox to The CW Network.

IDW’s David Ozer and Ted Adams will also executive produce along with Genre Arts’ Lindsey Springer, Coleite, Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and David Alpert and Rick Jacobs of Circle of Confusion. Hill will stay involved as writer and executive producer on the show, which was developed by Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and Aron Eli Coleite.
2) Colony!
Yes, I know Carlton Cuse was involved with Lost but Colony was my favorite sci-fi drama on USA Network. Cuse and Averill will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. It does crush my dreams that Colony will somehow have another season, especially with that cliffhanger, but I’m looking forward to my favorite comic book being adapted.

Andy Muschietti directed the original Hulu pilot but is unable to return to direct the Netflix series due to his commitment to It: Chapter 2. Who will take over the reins?
