An action-packed cyberpunk thriller, RoboCop: Citizens Arrest #4 (BOOM! Studios) captures the gritty atmosphere of the classic and pushes the ‘80s revival with its bitting satire. Writer Brian Wood and artist Jorge Coelho continue to push the Robocop franchise to the new heights with their imaginative reboot!

OCP announces their plan to reform the Ruins into a new neighborhood called the Plateau, as well as the devastating methods they plan to use.

Here are 5 reasons why you should get RoboCop: Citizens Arrest #4:

5) What Happened Before…

In the first installment, RoboCop realizes he has outlived everyone he knows, becoming an urban tale for the hopeless. Leo Reza, a rebellious youth, thinks he has a way to hurt the corrupt system run by corporations. After making his first appearance in front of the cameras, OCP is now pushing to fight back against their ormer prototype.

4) The Writing!

Writer Brian Wood focuses on the relationship between Leo and Alex. This is Murphy returning to the field and he has a new partner to cover his back. With the bold lettering by Ed Dukeshire, we’re getting to see the corporate figures of OCP’s plan to defeat RoboCop.

3) The Artwork!

Artist Jorge Coelho captures the western action as RoboCop shoots back at his robot rivals. In wide shots, we get to see suburbia become a scorched and desert landscape. Coelho illustrates such suspenseful panels as Leo and Alex unexpectedly find themselves caught in a trap.

2) The Colors!

My favorite part is the  emotional countdown between RoboCop and his partner. Colorist Doug Garbark highlights the western landscape with its reddish and yellowish background. The sun’s yellow tones intensify the explosion that takes place in the climax.

1) A Gritty Read!

RoboCop: Citizens Arrest #4 delivers western showdowns and a bold socio-political commentary. with its unexpected twists, I can’t wait to see what happens in the next  installment.
