A gritty re-imagining, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends #6 (IDW Publishing) delivers such bloody martial arts actions that will thrill readers. Check out the entire Image Comics TMNT run (a.k.a TMNT Volume 3) now reprinted in full, four-color glory!

With Splinter still missing, the Turtles try to test the limits of Donatello’s new cyborg body. But when a friend makes a mistake, will Donatello be able to take control before it’s too late?

Here are 5 reasons why you should get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends #6:

5) What Happened Before!

The TMNT and Master Splinter were attacked in their lair by a group of cyborgs led by the female ninja called Pimiko. Though they were reunited with Master Splinter, he was mysteriously turned into a giant bat. With his shell crushed, Donatello uses techno-armor to survive.

4) The Writing!

Halfway through the narrative, writer Gary Carlson marks the return of Casey Jones and April O’Neil. Though we have missed their early years together, Carlson notes they have matured together and have a solid relationship. Letterer Chris Eliopoulos emphasizes Michelangelo’s humorous dialogue as he babysits their adorable kid.

3) The Artwork!

Artist Frank Fosco has tons of fun illustrating the Turtles fighting each other in a training session. In the opening pages, Raph really stands out because of his burnt scarred face. The inks by Andrew Pepoy highlight the muscles of the Turtles as they get their butts handed to them.

2) The Colors!

Silver and white tones are highlighted thanks to colorist Adam Guzowski. The silvery tones mark the techno armor surrounding Donatello’s green body.
