Fox presents the highly anticipated premiere of The X-Files: Season 11 as David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as the iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Following the cliffhanger events of Season 10, the fight for the future involves the search for Mulder and Scully’s long lost son, William.

Created by Chris Carter, The X-Files continues with Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully (Anderson) searching for answers within the realm of paranormal phenomena. The duo investigate the unexplained cases that typically involve some sort of supernatural elements. The message remains the same; the truth is still out there.

Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for The X-Files: Season 11:

5) The Chemistry Is Still There!

Showrunner/creator Chris Carter knew from the beginning that his show would only work if the right leads were picked. Since the pilot, Duchovny and Anderson have such a dynamic chemistry. bringing the dialogue to life. Whether the scene asked them to be dramatic or comedic, they always delivered.

4) The Music!

Composer Mark Snow captured audiences’ attention with his memorable theme. Snow has made a distant sound that has become iconic along with the Fox drama. I cannot wait to hear what new tracks he has in store for these 10 new episodes!

3) The Show Evolves!

Not only does the show have a nostalgia factor, Carter has evolved his premise in the tenth season. There was nothing scarier last season than a government-controlled alien spaceship. Behind-the-scenes, I love that Carol Banker, who directed an episode of The Lone Gunmen, and Holly Dale (Reign) were added as directors in the lineup.

2) That Cliffhanger!!

Season 10 ended with a shocking cliff-hanger but with a satisfying twist! I loved that it was Scully (Anderson) racing against he clock and saving the world from the Millennium virus! The finale also set up a bigger role for Liz Einstein (Lauren Ambrose) and Kyd Miller (Robbie Amell), who had a scene with The Cigarette-Smoking Man (William B. Davis)!

1) I Want To Believe!

The believer in me wants to accept there is a higher power. The skeptic in me needs proof in the existence of aliens. The show speaks to me on so many levels!  My all-time favorite episodes include Anderson’s writer/directorial debut All Things, Duchovny’s writer/directorial debut The Unnatural, Fire, and I cried like a baby when Moby’s My Weakness played in Closure

Season 11 of The X-Files premieres on Fox January 3, 2018 at 8pm.
