Delivering the sharp laughs and action-packed spectacles, The Army of Darkness: Ash The Author (Dynamite Entertainment and Humble Bundle) is another fun installment in the groovy horror franchise. Celebrate Dynamite’s 15th anniversary with their huge bundle of comics, including this Humble Bundle one-shot exclusive.
When Ash makes his way to a book signing to promote his new autobiography, a fan shows up with a different book for him to sign…the kind that is constantly out to get Ash and turn him into a deadite! Ash’s plan to promote literacy becomes a life or death romp through (and under) New York you won’t want to miss!
Here are 5 reasons why you should read The Army of Darkness: Ash The Author:
5) The Retro Classic!
I wrote a new Army of Darkness comic and you can read it right now! It is a @humble exclusive part of this @DynamiteComics bundle and benefiting @CBLDF. It also features my good friend @audacia in a co-starring role so don’t miss out https://t.co/P5P5ySl8kN

From the Evil Dead movies, Ash (Bruce Campbell) has time-traveled to the medieval past and returned to the present day in order to defeat the Deadites. And now, Ash has decided to write his own autobiography. But do readers think he’s crazy? Or has he become a bigger target to the Deadites?
4) The Writing!
Writer Scott Duvall has kept the sarcastic tone of the stoic hero as Ash confronts social media and cyber bullies. With a book to promote, Ash levels up on his hilarious one-liners as he finds himself on a book tour in the Big Apple. Letterer Taylor Esposito nails the comedic hits with the running theme about hashtags and Twitter handles.
3) The Artwork!
Artists Edu Menna and Jordan Michael Johnson have moved Ash from the secluded cabin in the woods to the vibrant streets of New York City. In her hilarious facial expressions, notice how Kelley, Ash’s book agent, looks annoyed when he gets cynical. When his book event gets crashed by a Deadite, Ash has an incredible action sequence that takes place inside the underground subway tunnels.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Salvatore Aiala has essentially captured a New York tale with such vivid tones. With a bright atmosphere, the yellow taxis stand out in the opening pages. The flesh of the Deadites looks drowned out in brownish tones, with eyes turned white like in the movies.
1) A Fun Read!
Happy 15th anniversary to @DynamiteComics! ? We’re celebrating this momentous occasion with a huge bundle of comics! https://t.co/7Dg81lhHSB pic.twitter.com/X0mD6Za33k

Highly entertaining, The Army of Darkness: Ash The Author is the right mix of horror, action, and comedy. I hope the series does more with Ash’s autobiography entitled, “I Could Have Been King.”
