A knockout read, Buffy The Vampire Slayer #6 (BOOM! Studios) nails at the laugh-out-loud humor and delivers the monster scares when it comes to horror. Based on Joss Whedon’s groundbreaking series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, the pop culture phenomenon continues to explore new heights.
Nothing will ever be the same after the attack on Xander. But with the Mistress Drusilla and Spike closer to opening the Hellmouth, Buffy is out of time to save her friend-and everyone else in Sunnydale!
Here are 5 reasons why you should get Buffy The Vampire Slayer #6:
5) What Happened Before!
Woking at a fast food joint, Buffy is even more tired as she’s trying to get good grades at school and stick to her nightly patrol. After making new friends, Willow and Xander, Buffy’s vampire slaying keeps getting in the way. With the help of Willow and Xander, Buffy was able to defeat Drusilla and Spike. In retaliation, Drusilla took advantage of Xander and drank his blood.
4) The Writing!
With a friend’s life on the line, writer Jordie Bellaire examines the fragile bond between Willow and Buffy as they endure their own cycles of regret and anger. Bellaire also heightens the suspense, teasing more about Drusilla’s grand master plan. Letterer Ed Dukeshire highlights Giles’ role of a faithful father as he defends Buffy’s integrity, describing her as a strong and defiant woman.
3) The Artwork!
In the opening pages, artist David López illustrates the laugh-out-loud humor as Willow and Buffy clumsily defeat a giant spider. The tension really comes out when the duo starts blaming each other for Xander’s incident. The intense argument takes place as the hideous “demon snake woman” watches from behind.
2) The Colors!
A great use of purple tones, Raul Angulo paints Willow’s face with this color throughtout the narrative. Notice how the same shade appears in Willow’s skirt and Robin’s jacket, symbolizing how they are all connected. Somehow, these characters are all responsible and have Xander’s blood on their hands.
