Paramount has released the entertaining survival thriller Crawl, starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper, onto DVD and Blu-Ray. Find out what happens when you put together the the eye-popping mayhem of producer Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) with the visual ferocity of director Alexandre Aja (High Tension).
A young woman, Haley Keller (Kaya Scodelario), attempts to save her father Dave Keller (Barry Pepper) during a Catagory 5 hurricane. She finds herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators.
Here are 5 reasons why you should get Crawl on Blu-Ray:
5) Kaya Scodelario!
Writers Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen have crafted a relatable and vulnerable protagonist to kickoff the story. With undeniable charisma, Kaya Scodelario leads every scene with such engaging determination. Viewers are always rooting for Hayley Keller from start to finish because Scodelario really is the apex predator!
4) Barry Pepper!
Aided by his natural chemistry with Scodelario, Barry Pepper brings in so much humanity and heart to the role of Dave Keller. You can physically see the heavy burden weighing down on Dave, thanks to Pepper’s expressions.
3) The Alligator Attacks!
The editing by Elliot Greenberg really hooks the audiences into the movie, especially when the alligators attack. The shot holds steady when the alligators pace around the crawlspace at a slow pace. Cinematographer Maxime Alexandre then moves the camera at a fast pace alongside with the alligators when they spring into action.
2) A Fun Horror Flick!
While toning himself down, director Alexandre Aja has delivered a fun Hollywood blockbuster for the mass audiences. Aja has exceptionally paced the film, where viewers are always kept on edge and the stylized violence never takes a turn for the nasty.
