An incredibly fun-filled installment, WWE #24 (BOOM! Studios) is a plot-twisted underdog tale between the phenomenal one, A.J. Styles and his opponent, Shinsuke Nakamura! Readers are definitely going to enjoy the behind-the-scenes theatrics from their favorite superstars!
AJ Styles sees a path to Wrestlemania, but must get through multiple title matches to get to his dream bout. The problem? He doesn’t have to be pinned in these matches to lose the belt…
Here are 5 reasons why you should read WWE #24:
5) What Happened Before…
Coming from humble beginnings, A. J. Styles struggles to make a name for himself. Styles realizes that in order to remain at the top of his game, he cannot resort to cheating. He has to be able to confront his opponents head-on, like John Cena. Styles then realized there will always be bullies around when he confronts Brock Lesner
4) The Writing!
I loved how writer Dennis Hopeless shares the spotlight between AJ and Shinsuke. Right from the very start, Shinsuke is portrayed as a clever trickster, a Puck-ish character outside the ring. Letterer Jim Campbell captures Shinsuke’s tricky wording, which has two different meanings, during the opening pages and at the climax.
3) The Artwork!

Artist Serg Acuña does a fantastic job illustrating the mind-twisted games that Nakamura is playing on Styles. Always with a smile on his face, Nakamura wants Styles to hit him, but he does this by taunting him. The low blows from Styles in the drawings are definitely going to get a reaction from readers too.
2) The Colors!
Notice how colorist Doug Garbark highlights the red and blue tones of the wardrobe. Notice how the lighting turns to green when the two wrestlers duke it out in the ring. I love how the in big letters, “Come On,” is colored in yellow.
