With the plot twists and action unfolding at a spectacular speed, NBC continues Blindspot Season 3 with Episode 5: This Proud Legacy. Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) are back together solving the cases behind the mystery tattoos.
While Jane confronts the news she might be a mother, Tasha (Audrey Esparza), Edgar Reade (Rob Brown) are at each other’s throats over a specific life about Assistant Secretary West. Patterson (Ashley Johnson) reveals the truth to jane Kurt; she did indeed have a daughter.
Following their new lead, Kurt and Jane find themselves in battle within the evidence lockers. Two arsonists are attempting to get rid of the evidence by turning down the entire warehouse. Luckily, the two manage to save the rape kits from destruction.
Reade refuses to cooperate with Tasha, putting her down for most of the investigation. Stuart’s cell has been found, but was damaged in the water. In an attempt to catch the mole, Tasha and Patterson lie that there’s still data inside Stuart’s cell.
The rape kits are from a previous criminal case connected to Kazarus’ King Ivan, the reigning monarch. In 1997, Ivan raped an innocent woman named Yasmine, who was impregnated and had a son named Vanya, With rebellion taking place at the monarchy, the ruler of Kazarus is on the hunt for the true heir to the throne.
Patterson’s trap first leads to Reade, but then her hack uncovers a hidden link to FBI Director Eleanor Hirst (Mary Stuart Masterson). Though Patterson and Tasha have evidence that Eleanor is one of the bad guys, Reade refuses to listen to him. Either Reade is too involved or he is part of the conspiracy.
With Yasmine suffering from a gunshot wound, Vanya has no choice but to take his mother to the hospital. Jane and Kurt end up in a standoff against the mercenaries sent in to assassinate Vanya. After saving Vanya’s life, his whole world is turned upside down now that Kazarus is calling for him to return home and claim the throne.
Roman (Luke Mitchell) makes a surprise call to Jane at FBI headquarters. With everyone in the FBI office listening in, Roman reveals Jane did have a daughter. It turns out Jane was impregnated by her high school love but their mother, Shepard, didn’t approve.
After hearing that her baby was taken from her, Jane breaks down crying. Roman hangs up because he knows the team is tracing his call. Patterson is unable to track down Roman’s location because his call keeps bouncing.
Weller is scared to tell the whole truth to Jane. In a flashback, we find Kurt stranded in Berlin, looking for his missing wife. He ends up meeting a young girl named Avery, who claims to be Jane’s daughter.
Blindspot continues Fridays at 8m on NBC.
