Warner Bros. Home Entertainment brings the critically acclaimed First Season of the exciting Westworld onto DVD and Blu-Ray. In this visually stunning re-imagination of Michael Crichton’s directorial debut, enjoy the inaugural season with an A-list cast of talent.
Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and evolution of sin. The futuristic park is set between the intersection of the near future and reimagined past. Every human appetite, no matter how depraved or noble, can be indulged.
Here are 5 reasons to pick up Westworld: Season One on DVD:
5) The Mix of Sci-Fi & Western!
Many have claimed the western genre is dead, but Person of Interest creators Jonathan Nolan (Memento) and Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies) take the landscape, the wardrobes, music, and shoot-outs to new heights. Everyone in the cast, from Anthony Hopkins to Ed Harris to Evan Rachel Wood to Thandie Newton (who is just brilliant), deliver a powerhouse performance. You have to see Jeffrey Wright’s performance here! The elements of sci-fi allows the audience to look deep within themselves and question human nature.
4) Clifton Collins Jr.!
The Rules of Attraction actor played two different kinds of roles with Lawrence and El Lazo. With a key to The Maze, Lawrence serves as the moral conscience to The Man In Black (Ed Harris). When Collins plays El Lazo (meaning lasso in Spanish), he is the complete opposite, charismatic and slick. You’re going to love the duality!
3) The Mystery of the Maze!
Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy play around with story structure, jumping through different timelines. It’s way different than Lost, because the showrunners aren’t telling you where this is the past and present. Wood gives such a heartbreaking and powerful performance in her leading role. I also really liked Luke Hemworth’s touch guy person.
2) Ben Barnes!
Audiences were introduced to Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian in The Chronicle of Narnia films. Barnes pushes his range as the sleek, morally corrupt, and twisted Logan. I cannot wait to see his interpretation as the Marvel villain, Jigsaw, in The Punisher on Netflix!
