Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the highly anticipated official trailer to The Girl In The Spider’s Web starring Claire Foy, who revels in seeking revenge. Director Fede Álvarez (Don’t Breathe) re-imagines the popular characters from the bestselling novels by author Stieg Larsson.
A continuation of the Millennium series, the first installment written by David Lagercrantz, computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cyber criminals and corrupt government officials.
Here are 5 reasons we love Claire Foy in The Girl In The Spider’s Web:
5) A Short Film!
Impressively, the teaser feels like it was edited together like a short film. We clearly understand what Lisbeth’s motivations are and why she’s attacking the screaming man. Lisbeth sees herself as an avenging angel in costume and makeup as she hunts down evil men who prey on women.
4)The Look!
Foy looks nothing like Queen Elizabeth II in her hit Netflix series, The Crown! Lisbeth Salander still has her short jet-black hair, piercings, and tattoos. This time around, Salander has her painted-on eye mask and appears more athletic for her action scenes.
3) It’s Lisbeth’s Movie!
2) The Timeline!
If you read the novel, then book lovers are already this installment takes place after The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest. Cleared of all previous charges, Lisbeth still has to tend to her wounds from The Girl Who Played With Fire. What will draw Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist together this time around?

Rooney Mara played the lead character in David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Noomi Rapace originally took on the role in the original Swedish Dragon Tattoo trilogy. I can’t wait to see what Foy does in her own interpretation!
The Girl In The Spider’s Web arrives in theaters on November 9th, 2018.
