Vertical Entertainment delivers the new poster art to their highly anticipated suspenseful thriller, In Darkness, starring Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones), Emily Ratajkowski (I Feel Pretty), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool). Not only does Dormer take on gangsters and hit-men, the pulse-pounding thriller marks her first venture into screenwriting.
As we previously mentioned, a blind musician, Sofia (Dormer), hears a murder committed in the apartment upstairs from hers. Though the police think Veronique (Emily Ratajkowski) committed suicide, the actual einous crime sends her down a dark path. Sofia will find herself lost in London’s gritty criminal underworld.
Here are 5 reasons we love the In Darkness poster:
5) The Cast!
I love how the poster emphasizes the trio ensemble! Who could forget Natalie Dormer as she took on the Lannisters in Game of Thrones!?! And we loved Emily Ratajkowski in Gone Girl! Ed Skrein was quite scary and charismatic as the super-villain, Ajax, in Deadpool.
4) Why Is Her Eye Scratched Off!?!
If you examine the poster closely, one of Dormer’s eyes appears to be scratched off. Could it be because Sofia is playing a blind musician, who has her own set of secrets? Notice how the tagline, Fear Blinds The Truth, is purposely planted underneath her scratched eye.
3) The Colors!

Notice how the colors are combined with a blue background and a reddish tone. The close-up of Ed Skrein’s face is highlighted in red. Is Ed Skrein’s character supposed to help Sofia or murder her? I can’t tell!
2) Dormer’s Writing Debut!
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dormer reveals how the story came about, “It was before I did The Hunger Games. So, I was fully anticipating that I was writing a female part and a story that I would want to watch, but I wouldn’t have the honor of playing.”
1) Even The Poster’s Scary!!
In this segment of our in-depth interview with IN DARKNESS co-writer and lead actor Natalie Dormer (#TheHungerGames), she discusses the challenges she faced in the dual role. #InDarknessFilm #NatalieDormer #actor #filmmaker #interview #indiefilm pic.twitter.com/5RhmBcDj7c

Overall, the poster art screams out “suspenseful” and “mystery!” I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to see this movie!
