A clever conspiracy thriller, Quantum + Woody! #11 (Valiant Entertainment) keeps the action moving at a brisk pace that effectively mixes drama and super-heroism! The Quantum + Woody series really does marvelous wonders with its two head-butting and charismatic protagonists!
Quantum and Woody are having a pretty terrible day so far – their atoms were dissolved in the middle of a nationwide disaster; they faced down their personal demons in “The Otherverse;” and now they’re responsible for bringing a malicious entity back with them! These guys can’t even finish a jigsaw puzzle without losing a whole bunch of pieces – how are they gonna put all of reality back together?
Here are 5 reasons why you should get Quantum + Woody! #11:
5) What Happened Before…
As we previously mentioned, Quantum and Woody found themselves separated. By the time they find each other, something from outer-space has brought Hell on Earth! Now they had to save the city from utter destruction! After defeating the monster, the shadowy government agents have arrived to steal the spotlight from Quantum and Woody.
4) The Writing!
Writer Eliot Rahal delivers the laugh-out-loud humor and tension as Quantum struggles to make a decision. If he course-corrects the world, it means losing the only woman he loves. Dave Sharpe’s lettering delivers an integral character moment when Woody mentions he also has something to lose.
3) The Artwork!
Putting this out there for all to read! I am a huge fan of Morning Glories! Everything I love about Joe Eisma’s artwork is all here! A lot of the wicked humor comes from the a mysterious figure who looks like James Whale’s The Invisible Man. I just love how Woody is just pointing his finger while blasting away.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Andrew Dalhouse focuses on a blue and gray palette inside the hidden government lab. Notice how the white tones stand out from Quantum’s costume when he stands in the middle of the lab.
1) A Fun Read!
