Amazon Studios and K Period Media have announced the composer behind the Suspiria remake, a re-imagination of the cult masterpiece from Dario Argento. For the first time ever, the lead singer of the alternative rock band Radiohead, Thom Yorke will be scoring a feature film.
According to Variety, the horror remake time-travels back to 1977 Berlin, where a young American woman joins a prominent dance company. After dance members begin to mysteriously disappear, she suspects the company of hiding a disturbing secret. The cast includes Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades Darker), Mia Goth (A Cure For Wellness), Chloë Grace Moretz (Kickass), Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer) and features the return of the original starlet, Jessica Harper.
Here are 5 reasons why we think Thom Yorke is perfect for Suspiria:
5. Even The Director Loves Him!
Director Luca Guadgnino (I Am Love) describes working with Yorke, “Our goal is to make a movie that will be a disturbing and transforming experience: for this ambition, we could not find a better partner than Thom.”
4. Street Spirit (Fade Out)
3. Fake Plastic Trees
2. No Surprises
1. Knives Out
No word yet on when Suspiria will be released.
