As the bullet-ridden romantic crime tale continues, Going To The Chapel #2 (Action Lab: Danger Zone) keeps readers hooked from start to finish. What was supposed to be a simple wedding quickly turns out into a heist job before becoming a tense hostage situation!
As the police swarm the chapel, conflicted bride Emily must make a fateful choice – go through with her wedding, or team up with the Bad Elvis Gang to evade the bonds of holy matrimony. What could possibly go wrong? Unfortunately, playing both sides isn’t as easy as it looks!
Here are 5 reasons we’re excited for Going To The Chapel #2:
5) What Happened Before!
The Bad Elvis Gang has stormed into the chapel by force, interrupting Emily’s wedding. Already having cold feet on her wedding day, Emily discovers she has been taken hostage by her former lover, Tom. Jesse, the groom, is madly in love with Emily and will do anything to protect her from this gang of criminals.
4) The Writing!
While jumping around between perspectives, writer David Pepose adds so much detail to the characterizations, from Emily’s fear of commitment to Sheriff Reagan’s rough attitude towards criminals. Pepose’s witty sense of humor strikes through as the hostages argue with the hostage takers. Letterer Ariana Maher spotlights the nonlinear storytelling, directing the readers across the timeline.
3) The Artwork!
Artist Gavin Guidry does a fantastic job mixing the action with the comedy. In the wide shots, Guidry makes sure the each member of the Bad Elvis Gang has a different facial expression. The climatic last pages are wonderfully captured in slow motion.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Liz Kramer wonderfully paints the desert landscape in the background, giving off a western vibe. The vivid palette adds to the suspense as the robbers continue their standoff with the police.
1) A Fun Read!
Going To The Chapel #2 is a genuinely fun read that readers won’t be able to put down. Looking forward to the third issue!
