Uncork’d Entertainment keeps audiences glued to the screen with their suspense thriller, Blindsided, starring Ba Santos and Erik Knudsen. Director Johnny Mitchell sustains the incredible action and nail-biting tension with an engaging ensemble cast.
Sloan Carter is a young girl who has recently been blinded. Her father leaves for the weekend and her two best friends, returning home from University, keep her company. A protege of her father’s, passing through town, also spends the night. The peaceful weekend is interrupted by a shadowy threat and the safe country getaway turns into a fight for survival.
Here are 5 reasons why you should see Blindsided:
5) Bea Santos!
A powerhouse lead, Bea Santos has such an engaging appeal that combines vulnerability and fierceness. Because Sloan is blind, Santos does a fantastic job portraying a strong character who inspires sympathy and awe. Never in a single moment of Santos’ performance do you ever feel sorry for Sloan.
4) Erik Knudsen!
Erik Knudsen is engaging to watch as Toby, who struggles to stay calm during the home invasion. Toby (Knudsen) tries to be smart and quick-thinking as the invader, Tanya (Carlyn Burchell), chases after him. Knudsen has such natural and believable chemistry with Santos, which is why viewers will have no problem rooting for them.
3) Melinda Shankar!
Melinda Shankar has the scariest scene and most suspenseful sequence in the whole movie. After being chased throughout the home, Mika (Shankar) ends up on the roof of her building. She has to carefully slide across the ledge of the building while the psychotic killer is close behind her.
2) The Director!
Co-writer/director Johnny Mitchell does a great job showcasing the chemistry between his three leads. Screenwriters Mitchell, Brandon Tataryn, and Brad Wetherly have done excellent work creating interesting characters caught in peril. I love how the country side comes alive thanks to Mick Reynolds’ cinematography.
1) A Suspenseful Thriller!
Hitchcock-inspired and entertaining, Blindsided is a tense and suspenseful thriller boasting of a noteworthy performance by Bea Santos. Well-made from start to finish, audiences will definitely enjoy Blindsided.
Blindsided arrives on DVD and Digital August 13, 2019.
