Paramount Pictures has released the terrifying official trailer to the alligators-gone-wild horror flick Crawl, starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper. Producer Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) and Alexandre Aja (High Tension) have put together a maniacal aquatic thriller that horror fans have to see.
A young woman, Haley Keller (Kaya Scodelario), attempts to save her father Dave Keller (Barry Pepper) during a Catagory 5 hurricane. She finds herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators.
Here are 5 reasons we love the official trailer to Crawl:
5) Kaya Scodelario!
The Maze Runner actress Kaya Scodelario is literally soaking wet in just about every scene. Yeah she’s trapped in a flooding house, particular in the bathroom! And that’s just one of the craziest moments in the trailer! Did Scodelario shove a gun into an alligator’s mouth?
4) Barry Pepper!
I’ve been a huge fan of Barry Pepper since The Green Mile. Pepper just owned that role of Lucky Ned Pepper in the True Grit remake. I’m really interested in seeing what he does here in Crawl.
3) The Alligators!
There are alligators in the sewers! There’s an alligator in the shower! There’s even an alligator in the basement!
2) A Winning Combo!
Sam Raimi mixed horror and comic books with Darkman. Alexandre Aja pushed the graphic violence to an eye-popping crescendo with his The Hills Have Eyes remake. Screenwriters Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen introduced audiences to an unknown Amber Heard in John Carpenter’s The Ward. All these creative minds together are a winning combination!
1) 1 Million Views!
According to Entertainment Weekly, Paramount Pictures tapped MTV reality stars from Jersey Shore, Floribama Shore, and Siesta Key to post Crawl content on their Instagram accounts. These influencers have drummed up buzz, helping the trailer reach a million views and counting.
Crawl arrives in theaters July 12th, 2019.
