With three episodes left, ABC brings audiences to their world of magic in, Deception, starring Jack Cutmore-Scott and Ilfenesh Hadera, with Episode 10:The Unseen Hand. Get ready to fight crime and learn a few magic tricks alongside magician Cameron Black (Scott) and FBI agent Kay Daniels (Hadera).
While Jonathan Black (Scott) is in trouble for the librarian’s death, the magic team is investigating a car bombing. It turns out someone wanted a conspiracy theorist dead. Cameron joins Mike Alvarez (Amaury Nolasco) and Kay to the victim’s ransacked apartment, finding a clue in the microwave.
The clue leads to a former astronaut (Mario Van Peebles), who holds a lot of contempt towards the conspiracy theorist. Charles (Frank Whaley) mentions security wasn’t a big fan of the dead man either. After Kay and Cameron interrogate the daughter of the conspiracy theorist, she mentions her father recorded something before his death.
Jordan (Justin Chon), Gunter (Vinnie Jones), and Dina (Lenora Crichlow) end up watching the video of a secret cult meeting. Overlooking the footage, Kay recognizes the watch that the astronaut was wearing. Unfortunately Deakins (Laila Robins) tells Kay and Cameron that they don’t have enough evidence.
Though Jonathan is desperate to escape, he asks for help from the magic team and another inmate. While the inmate keeps check on the guards, the magic team stalls the warden to get his password and cell.
While Jonathan unlocks the warden’s computer, Kay and Cameron discover the next meeting of the secret cult. While masquerading as waiters, Cameron finds a portrait of his great-grandfather and Kay spots the daughter of the conspiracy theorist.
After getting caught by Charles, Kay and Cameron have to make a run for it. The daughter of the conspiracy theorist happens to be a journalist seeking the truth. The journalist makes an attempt at blackmailing Charles, but Kay and Cameron know she is heading towards a trap.
While the magic team deceive Charles into a confession, the journalist finds herself alone in the room, being threatened by him. After Charles revealed he killed her father, Kay pops out, with a gun in hand. Kay has Charles’ confession recorded on her phone.
At the wrap party, Cameron is visited by the .astronaut. Corvus Vale had nothing to do with the murder. Because the Black Brothers are members, Cameron is given a mysterious pen.
Caught on camera, the warden plants a bottle of gasoline under the librarian’s bed. With the warden arrested, Jonathan has to figure out who would want the librarian dead.
Deception continues Sunday nights at 10pm on ABC.
