Gracing the stunning cover of Marie Claire magazine, Gadot dishes some behind-the-scenes bits about her leading role, tackling on the issues she cares most about, and gives essential career advice.
In the feature adaptation of the long-running DC Comics title, Diana (Gadot), the princess of the Amazons, trained since she was a child to become an unconquerable warrior. Sheltered from the rest of the world, Diana unexpectedly meets an American pilot, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who tells her about the massive conflict taking place. Convinced she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her paradise island for the first time. Fighting to end the war of all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
Here are 5 reasons why we love Gal Gadot in the upcoming issue of Marie Claire:
5. She Plays Many Roles In Real Life Too!
According to the cover story from Marie Claire, the Justice League starlet was also a former pageant queen and an ex-combat trainer in Israel. When she’s not filming, the 32 year old is also a mother of two. She also dishes on her hope and never-ending fight for equal rights for women.
4. What Does It Take To Be A Confident Woman?
The mother of two describes her childhood experience, “My mom raised my sister and me to be confident women with aspirations. And I always felt capable. I’m not saying that I’m stronger than most men…but we all have the same brains and we can achieve the same things.”
3. The Fight For Equal Rights For Women
The Fast and Furious franchise star adds, “There’s a long way to go until we can make gender a nonissue. I don’t know if it’ll ever happen. I’m hoping it will because life would be so much cooler and less complicated then. Also, for men, by the way.”
2. She Really Is Wonder Woman!
Gadgot states, “I don’t enjoy conflict in my life. Unlike Wonder Woman, I’m not a fighter [but] I will fight for good.” Even Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins describes Gadot as one of the “most genuine, solid women” she has ever met.
