ABC has released a teasing sneak peek at the sci-fi action behind the highly anticipated Season 5 premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. After stopping the rise of Hydra, taking down an evil artificial intelligence, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s newest mission takes the entire crew to outer space, where no one can hear them scream.
Following the events of Season 4, agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the team barely escaped Aida’s Framework and have awakened in the real world. After defeating Aida with the aid of Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), the team went out for a celebration. The time to celebrate was interrupted by a mysterious man who rendered them frozen. And now we see Coulson onboard a ship somewhere lost in space.
Here are 5 Easter Eggs we spotted in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 sneak peek:
5) The Brood!
In the opening moments of the clip, a massive creature tears down the walls and crashes onto the tunnels of the spaceship. Could this be the infamous Brood? This parasitic race of insectoids have fought against Ghost Rider and the X-Men. Will Coulson (Gregg) need Ghost Rider (Luna)’s help one more time?
4) The Kree!
The extraterrestrial humanoid race, known as Kree, have been hinted at throughout the four seasons. Now they’re finally showing on up on the sci-fi Marvel drama! It’s about time right!?!
3) May Flies A Spaceship!
Something tells me May (Ming-Na Wen) hasn’t been trained to fly an alien spaceship. But with Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) in the passenger seat, May can’t possibly crash? Can she? I also laughed aloud when Mack (Henry Simmons) mentions the horror of space movies!
2) New Characters
This upcoming season, audiences will be meeting for the first time, Deke (Jeff Ward), Tess (Eve Harlow), Flint (Coy Stewart) and Grill (Pruitt Taylor Vince). Now that Inhumans is over, does does mean there will be S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover when the agents return to earth?
1) The Man In The Iron Mask?
It looks like Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. I mean it looks like they have the same reddish jacket and weird helmet. But it’s not Star-Lord right?
The 2-hour fifth season premiere of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs at 8 PM EST December 8th on ABC.
