USA Network continues the highly anticipated Suits spinoff series, Pearson, starring Gina Torres and Morgan Specter, with Episode 7: The Immigration Lawyer. After leaving her New York firm behind, former lawyerJessica Pearson (Torres) jumps into the Chicago world of politics.
After a mysterious tape was left at his home, for his wife to see, Bobby Golec (Specter) is dealing with the consequences of making Pat McGann (Wayne Duvall) angry. Unfortunately, the tape implicates him and his brother, Nick (Simon Kassianides). What to do against Pat starts to drive a wedge between the two brothers.
Derrick (Eli Goree) ends up having his own spat with Jessica. With the minority business enterprise failing, Derrick is tired of seeing the wrong people moving up the ranks. Jessica starts to have an identity crisis as to who she is and what her purpose is in Chicago.
While Jessica tries to come up with a plan, Nick ends up taking matters into this hands. Nick ends up starting a brawl with Pat and starts beating him senseless. With Pat calling in assault, Nick has to hand over his badge and Bobby goes back to being a McGann’s stooge.
Elsewhere, Keri Allen (Bethany Joy Lenz) is working on a deal that crosses into Pat’s ulterior plans. Her deal has to stop because Pat says so. At this point, even Keri starts to realize that Pat has something on Bobby.
Because she is DACA, Yoli Castillo (Isabel Arraiza) is having trouble breaking her mother out of an immigration detention center. Yoli realizes she is going to have to pay for a lawyer who is already asking for more than 1,5000. She needs this lawyer to defend her mother in court.
Unfortunately, the lawyer that Yoli hired bails out on her. The lawyer took the money and run. Now Yoli is now broke and her mother is still detained. Yoli ends up crying at work, in front of Derrick.
Either Yoli tells Jessica what’s going on with her mother, or Derrick will.
