Showtime continues Twin Peaks: The Return with the highly anticipated airing of Episode 5. In the fifth episode, original stars, Kyle MacLachlan and Mädchen Amick, reunite along with new faces in the continuation of David Lynch’s mystery/crime drama.
Still in amnesiac mode, Dale Cooper (MacLachlan) continues to live out Dougie’s life. He is actually becoming closer to Dougie’s son, Sonny Jim. After Janey-E Jones (Naomi Watts) hides the money from his casino earnings, she then takes Dale/Dougie to back to work at his insurance firm.
Because the hitmen have failed to find Dougie, they have to report the bad news to their boss. Their boss curses aloud because she has to make the unwanted call to the bad men in charge. While the hitmen keep track of Dougie’s car, a group of car thieves attempt to hijack the vehicle. The car thieves end up triggering the bomb inside Dougie’s car.
Trouble seems to find Dougie at the office. With his co-workers mad at him and his boss threatening to fire him, Dougie leaves work and finds himself staring at the stature of a sheriff. As the word “agent” wakes something up in Cooper, casino owners Bradley (Jim Belushi) and Bobby Mitchum (Robert Knepper) want their money back from Dougie.

Elsewhere, Evil Dale is still locked in his prison cell. He stares at himself in the mirror and remembers the Black Lodge. Evil Dale’s face slowly changes and he sees Bob in the mirror. Bob is still with him.
Back at Twin Peaks, Deputy Chief Tommy ‘Hawk’ Hill (Michael Horse) and Deputy Andy Brennan (Harry Goaz) are nowhere close to figuring out the Log Lady’s message. After getting an update about Harry’s sickness, Sheriff Frank Truman (Robert Forster)’s phone conversation is interrupted by his wife. Frank listens to his wife’s ranting but his attempts at cooling her down fail.
At the Double R Diner, Shelly (Amick) gets a sudden visit from her daughter Becky (Amanda Seyfried). Norma (Peggy Lipton) sees Shelly handing Becky over her money. Norma and Shelly know Becky will then give the cash to her junkie boyfriend, Steve (Caleb Landry Jones).

While Becky gets high, Colonel Davis (Ernie Hudson) is notified that the police are looking into Bobby’s father. At the Bang Bang bar, while the band Trouble is performing “Snake Eyes,” Richard Horne bribes the bouncer before he threatens to strangle a girl with his bare hands.
Agent Tammy Preston (Chrysta Bell) studies the closeups of Dale Cooper and Evil Dale. Tammy notices something strange on her computer screen when she investigates their fingertips. Evil Dale is finally given a chance to make his one phone call.
Instead of picking up the phone, Evil Dale looks directly into the camera and threatens the police officers with the name, Mr. Strawberry. After dialing, the prison lights automatically flash and the alarms sound off. With the officers distracted, no one is able to listen in on Evil Dale’s mysterious conversation.
