Showtime continues airing back-to-back two episodes, parts 3 and 4, of Twin Peaks: The Returns. Original stars, Kyle MacLachlan and Mädchen Amick, reunite along with new faces in the continuation of David Lynch’s  mystery/crime drama.

Trapped in the Black Lodge, Dale Cooper (MacLachlan) finds himself meeting a strange woman with her eyes gouged out. She warms him something is coming and attempts to help him escape the room. All of a sudden, she ends up taking him to outer-space.

After the stage woman sacrifices herself, Dale walks away from the stars and forces his body through a portal. Dale’s escape from the Black Lodge has a echoing effect on Evil Dale and another doppelgänger named Dougie. After Evil Dale crashes his car into the desert, Cooper transforms and replaces Dougie.

As the police surround Evil Dale’s crashed car, Cooper has memory loss and assumes the identity of Dougie. Dale doesn’t realize there are men with guns chasing after him (Dougie). Back at FBI Headquarters, Deputy Director Gordon Cole (Lynch) learns about the William Hastings murder and the glass box massacre. After hearing Cooper has reappeared, Cole recruits agents Tammy Preston (Chrysta Bell) and Albert Rosenfeld (Miguel Ferrer).

Back at Twin Peaks, Deputy Chief Tommy ‘Hawk’ Hill (Michael Horse) discovers Lucy (Kimmy Robertson) ate the missing evidence from the Laura Palmer case, but he is nowhere closer to finding Dale. Then Deputy Andy Brennan (Harry Goaz) and Lucy have a reunion with with their son, Wally Brando (Michael Cera).

With Harry sick, Sheriff Frank Truman (Robert Forster) attempts to put the missing pieces together. Deputy Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook) reveals to the Sheriff that his father met with Dale before his death. Did Evil Dale murder Bobby’s father and burn his body before leaving Twin Peaks?

While Bobby mourns for Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), an amnesiac Dale Cooper wanders around the casino, winning jackpot millions from the slots. Dale continues to live out another man’s life and befriends Dougie’s son. Dougie’s wife, Janey-E Jones (Naomi Watts), realizes Dale/Dougie has won enough money to pay off their debts from the mob.

Elsewhere, Gordon meets with Denise Bryson (David Duchovny), who has been promoted and now his superior. Denise warns Gordon to lay his hands off Tammy because he has a history with female recruits. Gordon finally arrives with Tammy and Albert to interrogate Evil Dale.

During the interrogation. Evil Dale reveals he is undercover and on assignment from FBI agent Phillip Jeffries (David Bowie). Keeping Tammy in secret, Gordon and Albert realize something oddly wrong with Cooper. And there’s only one person who could help them now.

Meanwhile, The Cactus Blossoms perform “Mississippi” and Au Revoir Simone play “Lark” at the bar.

Twin Peaks: The Return continues Sundays at 9pm on Sunday.
