A tremendously entertaining sci-fi/horror scarefest, Southern Cross #13 (Image Comics) deepens its mystery with a frighteningly nightmarish plot. An incredible standout in storytelling and artwork, the Southern Cross series is a flat-out disturbing read on the horror effort.
As we previously mentioned, after the events from Volume 1 and Volume 2, Southern Cross expanded its universe, dropping readers onto Saturn’s refinery moon, Titan, and confining them to the claustrophobic environment of the Romulus rig. Now in the thirteenth installment, we are now entering a terrifying new chapter and deadly adventure!
Here are 5 reasons why you should read Southern Cross #13:

4) Hazel & Kyril!
Writer Becky Cloonan (Gotham Academy) continues the horror story with two very interesting characters, Hazel and Kyril. The brains of the operation, Hazel is the badass grandma who shoots first. As the muscle and her sidekick, Kryil has grown from his lone wolf heyday and now has actual friends.

You have a decapitated head talking, a naked ghost floating around, and a zombie aboard a spaceship! Artist Andy Belanger (Kill Shakespeare) sure loves terrifying his audience with his striking imagery. With more scares to come, Belanger saves the most horrifying imagery for the very last pages!
2) The Psychedelic Colors!
Colorist Lee Loughridge uses faded purple and blue tones to enhance the claustrophobic interiors of the Southern Cross. The hues are always dark inside but outside, the yellow tones are strikingly bright. It’s like the sun never goes sets on this planet.
