‘Suits’ Recap: Season 7, Episode 4: ‘Divide And Conquer’

USA Network continues Season 7 with Episode 4, entitled Divide and Conquer, of their popular lawyer drama, Suits. Back in their fan-favorite roles for the seventh season, Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht return as slick lawyers Mike Ross and Harvey Specter.

Knowing things are rocky with Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Harvey Specter (Macht) has a lunch date with Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres). Harvey tells her what’s been going on at the firm since he took over. Elsewhere, Thomas Bratton (Al Sapienza) has decided to take out the firm by stealing and suing Harvey and his team.

While Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) tries to to keep track of her wedding plans, Mike Ross (Adams) has been secretly working on his previous pro bono case. Mike learns the prison guards have been telling lies for years about the deaths of numerous inmates. 

Mike is one step away ahead Thomas Bratton and gets Harvey out of his lawsuit. Even though he hates him, Louis reluctantly accepts the help of Alex (Dulé Hill) after his client has been poached by Bratton. After getting his client back, Alex and Louis make peace by having dinner together.

Donna Paulson (Sarah Rafferty) thinks the associate she fired is the mole. One of her decisions could be the downfall of the firm. Rachel interrogates the associate, who turns out not to be the mole, and ends up late meeting with the wedding planner.

Now it’s Harvey’s turn to make peace with Louis. The two make their threats with Thomas Bratton but he won’t back down. Bratton wants the clients and money he lost after Alex moved to their firm.

Knowing Bratton has better resources, Harvey needs an angry and asks for help from Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce). Robert has to lie to Bratton and say their firms have merged. Unfortunately, Robert won’t go through with the bluff because he gets in more trouble if their bluff goes bad.

Alex has a secret meeting with Bratton and signs a contract. They both could go to jail if their secret is failed. For 10 years, Alex gets to keep his clients before they go back with Bratton.

Mike and Rachel continue with their wedding plans as Harvey makes a call to Jessica. Harvey knows Jessica was the mole who told Bratton that there were inner troubles. She was testing Harvey and knew he wouldn’t back down from a fight; Thomas and their competition know not to mess with him.

Suits continues on USA Network Wednesdays at 9pm.
