Full of eye-popping art and insane wrestling theatrics, WWE Survivor Series 2017 Special (BOOM! Studios) is an extra-sized feast of high energy mayhem and bombastic rivalry. Readers should definitely get ready to dive into the WWE’s wackiest and most entertaining tales.
The oversized stand-alone issue features several short stories tied to key matches from the massive history of the WWE. The stories feature the Brock Lesnar and Goldberg showdown in 2016 that was 12 years in the making. There’s also the tale behind the 2016 Team Raw vs. Team Smackdown Women’s Elimination match. Get hooked with the most controversial match in all of the WWE history, which happened during 1997’s Montreal Screwjob.
Here are 5 reasons why you should read WWE Survivor Series 2017 Special:
5) The Writers!

As you flip through each page, the short tales definitely keep getting better and better. This is thanks to the writing talents of Dennis Hopeless, Derek Fridolfs, Box Brown, Kevin Panetta, Lan Pitts, and Aaron Panetta!
4) The Artists!
Your eyes are going to be so glued to the phenomenal artwork of Lucas Werneck, Kelly Willaims, Rodrigo Lorenzo, Kendall Goode, and Tim Lattie. There are three variant covers; so make sure you get the one from Rahzzah, Jim Rugg, and Juan Doe.
3) My Favorite Picks!
Shawn Michaels is my favorite wrestler of all time, so I loved seeing the Heartbreak Kid in “The Montreal Screwjob.” Werneck wonderfully captures signature Sweet “Chin Music” kick in a wide shot. Brown does a fantastic job jumping between past and present in Kurt Angle’s solo tale, “Debut.” Fridolfs’ animated style is on point with the comedy in “Down The Hatch.”
2) The Guest Stars!
Be on the lookout for Golddust, The Undertaker, and Goldberg inside the special installment! I definitely got a kick out of seeing Paul Heyman pop up!
1) Helluva Entertaining Read!
