The machine-made soldier arrives for the final chapter of The Book of Dead arc. Bloodshot travels to a Hellish world with his pet, Bloodhound, who is an innocent creature imbued with power. This is the turning point of the Faustian story that explores the Deadside!
4) Book of the Dead!
Writer Jeff Lemire puts together a clever family drama riddled with bullets and superpowers. Deep down, this is a twisted family drama about a father doing everything, sacrificing everything for his daughter. Bloodshot wants his daughter to stay innocent and not become like him.
3) The Artwork!
Every single page looks like a painting! Inspired by Jason and the Argonauts more than Dante’s Inferno, artist Renato Guedes dives Bloodshot into the different circles of Hell, fighting different kinds of the undead. This is a supernatural adventure tale as Bloodshot swings his sword and class with a skeletal warrior.
2) The Colors!
Instead of red tones, the Deadside is highlighted in a sickly green color. In one level, the Deadside looks like the inside of a living intestine. The pages look like the inside of a medical textbook.

A fast and gripping read, Bloodshot Salvation: #8 is an artistic achievement and a terrific story. I can’t wait to read what happens next in the Salvation series.
