A gripping police procedural, Bone Parish #7 (BOOM! Studios) continues its thought-provoking social commentary on crime with a burst of supernatural tension! One of the best titles to have come out of 2018, Bone Parish succeeds at high levels because of its ensemble of interesting characters.
Even as they wage war on multiple fronts, the Winters family can’t help but fracture from within following their shocking loss.
We have 5 reasons why you should get Bone Parish #6:
5) What Happened Before!
Since the first issue, the new drug that everybody is talking about is made from humans! The ashes that the users are inhaling actually come from the dead. Now imagine someone experimenting on this kind of drug and its adverse effects.
4) The Writing!
In this installment, Writer Cullen Bunn spotlights the drug trade through the perspective of the police. While the Winters family developing a new strain of their drug, they caught the attention of Detective Herron. Letterer Ed Dukeshire does a great job in the opening pages emphasizing how police officers talk to each other, then to their families.
3) The Artwork!
Artist Jonas Scharf does something incredibly horrifying that will make the readers really squeamish. In the narrative, the Winters gang pay a visit to a crack house. In Scharf’s version of a crack house, bodies are horrifyingly melded together like a giant blob.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Alex Gumaraes heightens the gentleman’s club life with such vivid colors. The Den is filled with red spotlights at the dance floor and blue lighting at the bar. Gumaraes makes the club setting look so stunning; I kinda wish the place was real.
1) Horror & Crime!
A solid installment, Bone Parish #6 brings out the best in horror and crime! I really want to know what happens next with these characters!
