From Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, audiences can now watch the critically acclaimed Season One of The Sinner, starring Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman. A must-see TV event on USA Network, audiences should get ready for a gripping thriller that doesn’t ask the “who” or the “what” — but the “why.”
As we previously mentioned, The Sinner follows a young mother, Cora Tannetti (Jessica Biel), who is overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage. She commits a startling act of violence, but she has no idea why.The investigator, Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman), finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman’s buried motive. Together they take a harrowing journey into the depths of Cora’s psyche and the violent secrets hidden in her past.
Here are 5 reasons we’re excited to get our hands on The Sinner DVD:
5) Her Critically Acclaimed Performance!
For her unforgettable performance, Jessica Biel received accolades from the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice! As both actress and producer, Biel demonstrating her range and charisma through the psychological thriller. With Cora being flawed, strong, and vulnerable on so many levels, Biel is just amazing to watch in every single episode!
4) The Former President!
As co-lead, Bill Pullman kicks it up another notch as Detective Harry Ambrose. Adding to the mystery and psychology, (Pullman) is all kinds of messed up, even when he gets closer to the truth. Pullman has the right frazzled look, with his scruffy beard and uneven clothing.
3) The Supporting Cast!
Every role in the ensemble drama is perfectly cast. During the pilot, Raegan Millican does wonders with her somber portrayal as young Cora. Another standout in the show is Nadia Alexander, who delivers such a heartbreaking performance as Cora’s sister, Phoebe. I loved Jacob Pitts in Justified, so I was really happy to see him again as the sleazy drug dealer, J.D.
2) A Satisfying Ending!
Because the USA drama is based on the novel by Petra Hammesfahr, the story arc works as a standalone and a possible spinoff featuring Detective Ambrose. The ending between Ambrose and Cora will leave you in a state of ugly cry! I’m not crying, you’re crying!
