Livewire #3, Valiant

A highly enjoyable action-thriller, Livewire #3 (Valiant Entertainment) delivers bare-knocked precision when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. After introducing an interesting lead protagonist, Livewire has shifted gears a bit to present its antagonist, Pan de Santos.

Fleeing from more than just the law, Livewire’s about to find out whether she has the strength to survive on her own in a world that hates and fears her, with only her memories of better days to rely on…but if she’s not careful, even those can be snatched away by the mercenary hunting her down!

Here are 5 reasons why you should get Livewire #3:

5) What Happened Before!

After choosing the few over the many, Amanda McKee must now outrun the government she served – and those she once called allies. With the whole world hunting her, what kind of hero will Livewire be…or will she be one at all?

4) The Writing!

Writer Vita Ayala does an amazing job juggling the action and character development. Ayala uses a great storytelling technique to hint at readers what motivates Pan de Santos, while still keeping him a mystery. Letterer Saida Temofonte quotes the word “Sis” to show that Pan is messing with Amanda’s head, taunting her while they fight.

3) The Artwork!

I love how artists Raúl Allén, Patricia Martín, and Scott Koblish make you feel like their action-packed illustrations are a cinematic one-take. They really make you, the reader, feel like you’re in the middle of the brawl between them. Readers are definitely going to be hooked with the action right till the climax!

2) The Colors!

Notice how the color palette sustains a bright pink shade as when Livewire is thrown out of her room. The colors drop to a red tone when the characters dive back into a flashback. Observe how the backgrounds turn black to match with Pan’s stylish outfit.

1) A Great Read!

A brawling installment, Livewire #3 moves along at a fast pace with jaw-dropping action sequences! I’m really digging into the action and adventure of the Livewire series!
