Livewire #6, Valiant

An effective actioner, Livewire #6 (Valiant Entertainment) manages to merge the emotional intensity, the choreography, and the character development into one pulse-pounding direction. An exciting new story arc continues as Livewire proves itself to be a first-rate sci-fi thriller.

The Psiot Safety & Education Program welcomes Livewire into a supported safe haven for psiots. But is Livewire willing to let the same government that once hunted psiots house her family of outcasts?

Here are 5 reasons why you should get Livewire #6:

5) What Happened Before!

While investigating the disappearance of a young psiot girl, Livewire stumbles upon OMEN’s secret facility. It’s a training ground where young psiots are taken and taught to control their powers. Is this facility the safe haven Livewire’s dreamed of? Or is there something more sinister to this sanctuary?

4) The Writing!

Writer Vita Ayala jumps back and forth between different perspectives. This is how the media sees Livewire, this is how a lost child gazes at a superhero, and this is how Amanda sees himself. Notice how letterer Saida Temofonte plays around with Mrs. Byrne’s dialogue, making her appear to be mysteriously sneaky and sincere in her motivations.

3) The Artwork!

I love how artist Kano can make a scene so tense and suspenseful, just with two people sitting in their chairs. Notice how Livewire is yelling across the room as Mrs. Byrne attempts to stay cool under pressure. It’s just a blast seeing Livewire wearing her costume during a major fight sequence.

2) The Colors!

Notice how the background turns black when the fighting starts. Livewire’s orange suit really stands out during these panels as she gives and takes a beating. Livewire’s opponent wears a pink jumpsuit, making it easy for the readers to distinguish them.

1) A Knockout Read!

A first-rate read, Livewire #6 delivers a major fight scene that is awesomely next level! Let’s see where the second arc of the Livewire series goes!
