Vertical Entertainment delivers the first trailer to their suspenseful thriller, In Darkness, starring Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) and Emily Ratajkowski (I Feel Pretty). Not only does Dormer take charge in her leading role, the pulse-ponding thriller marks her first foray into screenwriting.
A blind musician hears a murder committed in the apartment upstairs from hers. Though the police think this was an parent suicide, the heinous crime sends her down a dark path. Sofia (Dormer) will find herself lost in London’s gritty criminal underworld.
Here are 5 reasons we love In Darkness trailer:
5) Who’s Playing Who?
While being interrogated by the police, Sofia (Natalie Dormer), a blind pianist, appears to know nothing about her be neighbor’ suicide, she definitely knows more than her vague answers. After taking on the Lannisters in Game of Thrones, Dormer is going after assassins, gangsters, and screaming mob bosses.
4) The Gone Girl!
After seeing her in Gone Girl, I cannot wait to see model-turned-actress Emily Ratajkowski as Veronique! Though Veronique seemingly appears to be in flashbacks, all of Ratajkowski’s scenes are with Dormer! Adding to her acting chops, Ratajkowski throws in an accent to her femme fatale role.
3) Deadpool!
Ed Skrein was the scary and charismatic antagonist, Ajax, in Deadpool. Because Sofia has to be suspicious of everyone, we don’t know if we should trust Skien’s character. He could be working for the enemy or trying to save her life?
2) A Busy Screenwriter!
According to IndieWire, Dormer wrote the script years before her “Game of Thrones” debut. Director/producer Anthony Byrne —who also happens to be Dormer’s fiancé since 2011 — shares screenwriting credit. The Tudors actress has also landed herself the starring role in both Amazon’s limited series Picnic at Hanging Rock.
1) Nip/Tuck!!
Anybody else spot Joely Richardson in the trailer!?! Richardson starred in my favorite Ryan Murphy drama, Nip/Tuck!
In Darkness arrives in theaters on May 25th, 2018.
