It all started when weapons of the war between Africa and China’s transgenics surfaced. those weapons were being transported from the East Coast to the West Coast by Transamerican. Hip Flask took control of a Pentalion, pitting himself against Burba and his cohorts.
4) The Writing!
Writer Richard Starkings adds so much personality and energy to his three main characters, from Hip to Dillon to Jack. When the three share the same panel, that’s when the witty one-liners really take over. The lettering by Starkings bods certain words to heighten the action and extend the urgency of the momentum.
3) The Art!
Artist Axel Medellin ramps up the sci-fi action, especially when the imagery involves two giant robots beating each other to a pulp. Readers are definitely going to get a kick out of Medllin’s slam-bang brawls. Notice the little details Medellin adds to the design of the blaster.
2) The Colors!
Medellin’s color palette captures the Utah desert at sundown. The western landscape is ideal for the Mexican standoffs, the hand-to-hand combat, and the intense confrontations.
