Amped for a maximum thrill-ride, Wailing Blade #2 (ComixTribe) continues as an exhilarating action-packed adventure that readers will truly enjoy. With its amazingly rich visuals, Wailing Blade delivers so much potential out of its imaginative scenery and characters.
They’ve hit him, cut him, and shot him full of arrows, but the Headtaker refuses to go down! A simple ambush turns into a desperate fight for their lives, as Tychon and his Windcleavers battle a seemingly unstoppable foe. And, even if they achieve victory, time is still running out for Auros in the dungeons of Ordz – if our heroes fail, his head is sure to fall to the edge of the Wailing Blade. The Windcleavers hatch a plan that will either save, or damn them.
Here are 5 reasons why you should get Wailing Blade #2:
5) What Happened Before!

The Headtaker is a feared executioner, a wielder of the legendary Wailing Blade. His gigantic sword will kill every man who meets his gaze. Elsewhere, Tychon is an upstart bandit prince. The bandit is fighting to save his father from the chopping block.
4) The Writing!
Writer Rich Douek kickstarts the narrative with an immensely bloody battle between The Headtaker and Tychon. Interestingly, Douek is able to define both personalities through their actions. Letterer Taylor Esposito does a great job capturing the witty humor during the opening pages by bolding certain words.
3) The Artwork!
Artist Joe Mulvey lets loose on the flexibility and physicality of the characters. During the bloody action sequence, Tychon jumps into the air, with his arms raised high and his hands holding his curved sword. Tychon looks heavy because of his armor, but he’s light on his feet.
2) The Colors!
Colorist Christopher Sotomayor paints the pages red when limbs end up being chopped off. The Headtaker is caked in blood, from top to bottom. The red tones never steer towards gore, but rather aim to make the Headtaker larger than life and more menacing.
1) An Absolute Blast!
To say I LOVE working with @SotoColor would be an understatement.
