Ashleigh Cummings NOS4A2, AMC

After staking the highly anticipated premiere, AMC will be taking over the hot summer slate with their supernatural drama, NOS4A2, starring Ashleigh Cummings and Zachary Quinto. Based on the bestselling novel by Joe Hill, the AMC drama will air the fifth season of Fear The Walking Dead on the very same night.

Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) is a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – a twisted place of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law.

Here are 5 reasons we’re excited to see NOS4A2:

5) Vic McQueen!

One of my favorite parts about the novel is how the story showcases the protagonist and antagonist. Television is a different medium, especially when it comes to horror. In the footage from the trailers, Ashleigh Cummings sells these suspenseful and frightening moments with her terrified expressions. These are the things that will make her a great lead!

4) Charlie Manx!

Like many, I became a huge fan of Zachary Quinto after Heroes. Quinto did a wonderful spin on his take on Spock in the recent Star Trek movies.  There are different versions of Charlie Manx, both young and old, which is a great showcase for Quinto to demonstrate his versatility. I can;t wait for Quinto and Cummings to share a scene together!

3) The Book!

As a book lover, I am very anxious to see what showrunner Jami O’Brien (Hell on Wheels) does with the adaptation. I can’t wait to see what her vision is of Manx’s Christmasland. Known for The Handmaid’s Tale, Kari Skogland will be directing the first two episodes of the upcoming AMC drama, establishing the mood and making Christmas feel scary.

2) Vampires!

The title is a clever homage Max Schreck’s silent movie, Nosferatu. Hill plays around with vampire lore from Dracula, which gives showrunner Jami O’Brien plenty of room to explore. As a horror fan, I also love watching vampires and zombies back-to-back with NOS4A2 and Fear The Walking Dead.

1) NOS4A2!

With such great characters and a phenomenal cast, I can’t wait to jump into the very weird world of NOS4A2. Having loved the book, I really think audiences will enjoy the suspenseful and dramatic fun of the horror show.

NOS4A2 will premiere back-to-back with Fear The Walking Dead on Sunday, June 2 starting at 9:00pm.
