Announced at WonderCon 2019, AMC has set the premiere date for their highly anticipated supernatural drama, NOS4A2, starring Ashleigh Cummings and Zachary Quinto. Based on the bestselling novel by Joe Hill, the AMC drama will premiere with the fifth season of Fear The Walking Dead on the very same night.
Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) is a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto). Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – a twisted place of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law.
Here are 5 reasons we’re excited for NOS4A2:
5) Back 2 Back!
Sarah Barnett, President of AMC Networks Entertainment Group, explains airing two horror shows back to back, “Fear remains one of the most successful dramas on cable with a passionate fanbase who we think will love NOS4A2, a suspenseful and electrifying character drama set against the back drop of supernatural horror. We anticipate the audience overlap will be strong,”
4) Horror + Christmas!
Barnett adds, “NOS4A2 showrunner Jami O’Brien and her incredible writing team have created something we didn’t know we needed until now – a perfectly unmissable intertwining of horror and Christmas.”
3) The Wraith!
In an interview with Showbiz Junkies, Zachary Quinto explains his character’s relationship with his car, The Wraith, “Charlie’s an extension of The Wraith and The Wraith is an extension of Charlie. So that plays out through the narrative of the first season in a lot of interesting ways. It was really fun for me to get to learn how to drive it and to have my own relationship with the car as an actor. Darri and I spend a lot of time in that car together.”
2) Vic’s Strongest Muscle!
Ashleigh Cummings talks about bringing a book’s protagonist to life, “What I loved about Vic and what we discussed with Jami early on was that she’s terrified when she shows up. She’s courageous and that is her strength. Her heart is her strongest muscle. Her super powers are her creativity, her intuition, her vulnerability, her empathy and all of these typically feminine traits are coming to the forefront and is what she utilizes to take on this force of evil.”
1) The Supporting Cast!
The ensemble includes Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Bing Partridge, Virginia Kull as Linda McQueen, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Chris McQueen and Jahkara Smith (aka Sailor J) as Maggie Leigh.
NOS4A2 will premiere back-to-back with Fear The Walking Dead on Sunday, June 2 starting at 9:00pm.
