Upon its highly anticipated premiere date, USA Network has announced Patrick J. Adams’ official return for Suits final Season 9. Alongside Pearson, fans will be eagerly awaiting for the back-to-back combo between Gina Torres, Gabriel Macht, and Katherine Heigl.
During the Season 8 finale, after being cleared of all wrongdoing in the ethics hearing, Harvey (Macht) raced on over to Donna’s apartment. Harvey and Donna (Sarah Rafferty) had their hands all over each other, stripping their clothes off, as they passionately make love. Not only did that happen, Robert Zane (Wendall Pierce) paid the price for taking on Daniel Hardman (David Costabile) and took one for the team, losing his license in the aftermath.
SPOILERS! Make sure you catch up on our recaps! Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for Suits:
5) Summer Team-up!
According to TV Line, Adams will appear in the fifth episode of the final season. As Executive producer/showrunner Arron Korsh states, Mike Ross somehow ends up “getting embroiled in a case against Harvey and Samantha.”
4) Mike Vs. Samantha!
How will Samantha Wheeler (Heigl) deal with losing her mentor in the upcoming ninth season? Does she want justice for Robert Zane by going after Harvey’s protege? Korsch adds that Mike “doesn’t exactly know that Samantha is going to be involved when he comes back, but he does know Harvey is going to be.”
3) The Emotions!
Korsh teases there will be “some fun scenes and some emotional scenes with Mike and the old gang. He will interact with more than Harvey and Samantha.”
2) The Final Chapter!
Adams admits, “I couldn’t be happier to be part of the final chapter of Suits.” He also mentions, “I’ve missed my TV family, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble Mike Ross can stir up at the firm one last time.”
1) Pearson!
During the seventh season finale, Jessica Pearson (Torres) set foot in Chicago to reunite with her long-lost family. She was also taking on a crooked politician and a shady real estate developer.
Pearson and the final season of Suits will premiere on Wednesday, July 17 starting at 9pm on USA Network.
