Oscilloscope presents a nostalgic fun ode to the gleefully bizarre with VHYes, starring Tim Robbins, Thomas Lennon, and Charlyne Yi. With Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, writer/director Jack Henry Robbins delivers a hilarious roundup of oddball sketches with surprising cameo appearances.
Twelve-year-old Ralph mistakenly records home videos and his favorite late night shows over his parents’ wedding tape. The result is a nostalgic wave of home shopping clips, censored pornography, and nefarious true-crime tales that threaten to unkindly rewind Ralph’s reality.
Here are 5 reasons why you should watch VHYes:
5) My Favorite Skit!
Unbelievably prefect together, Thomas Lennon and Mark Proksch are featured in my favorite skit! Their comedic timing and chemistry are amazing as Lennon and Proksch in their spoof of an Antiques Roadshow-type show. Imagine having your treasure stolen from a bully and the results are wickedly amusing, from awkward to hostile!
4) Charlyne Yi!
Charlyne Yi has such an adorably charming and earnest personality as her character, Lou. Eagerly wanting to make a good impression on her guests, Lou (Yi) hosts her own show out of her parent’s basement. With a few Dad jokes here and there, her parents’ outbursts range from giddy to eccentric.
3) Tim Robbins!
I’ve mostly known Tim Robbins from such serious dramas, like The Shawshank Redemption and the second season of Castle Rock. With a fine tune at comedy, Robbins plays around with his weird makeup and costume as Sir Roger Handley III. In the absurd sketch, Sir Roger Handley III (Robbins) thinks he has solved his own murder, but he’s really grasping at straws.
2) The Cameos!
With the sketches running at full speed, keep your eyes out for such big names in cameo appearances. You can hear Susan Sarandon narrate a sketch. Madeline Zima goes all out with her over-the-top fake accent for a laugh-out-loud appearance.
1) Hilariously Absurd!
Hilariously absurd from start to finish, audiences will be delightfully amused with VHYes. With a great aim, VHYes hits all of its comedic targets.
VHYes arrives in cinemas nationwide on January 17th, 2020.
