Before going on break, ABC brings audiences to their world of magic in the crime drama, Deception, starring Jack Cutmore-Scott and Ilfenesh Hadera, with Episode 5: Masking. Get ready to fight crime and learn a few magic tricks alongside magician Cameron Black (Scott) and FBI agent Kay Daniels (Hadera).
After an explosion, Mike Alvarez (Amaury Nolasco) is putting together Bishop’s previous heists at FBI headquarters. Mike predicts Bishop will do two more jobs, including murder, before leaving the Big Apple. Cameron desperately wants to believe there is a connection to the Femme Fatale (Stephanie Corneliussen).
In the prison, Jonathan and Cameron are woking together on the case. But Jonathan is getting dangerously close to the other prisoners. Noticing the pictures, Jonathan picks out the coded messages Bishop sends to his team.
At the Archive, Jordan (Justin Chon) argues with Gunter (Vinnie Jones), while Dina (Lenora Crichlow) expresses her worries to Cameron. As Jonathan continues to find himself in trouble with another prisone, Cameron and his magic team have made a breakthrough. The latest image points to The Atlas at Rockefeller Center.
Unfortunately, Kay mages to catch the wrong suspect in front of a large crowd. Mike and Kay end up interrogating a street artist, making him an accessory to murder. At the prison, Dinah meets with Jonathan, asking for the truth. Holding her hand, Jonathan just wants to leave, to make things right.
Meanwhile, Kay tells Cameron some bad news, there are no connections to the Mystery Woman. Just as Cameron is about to lose hope, he deciphers a message in the stained-glass window. After being fooled, the street artist thinks he’s being targeted and squeals.
With the latest image, Kay realizes they have a time and date to meet Bishop. Cameron just has to work undercover and impersonate the street artist. As part of his initiation Cameron has to chase the other masked street artists show, jumping fro one rooftop to another.
While Kay and the others follow behind in their van, Cameron finds himself hanging close to the ledge. Cameron finally meets with Bishop (Billy Zane) and ends up fighting his crew. While Jonathan fights in the prison, Kay arrives too late to stop Bishop from disappearing.
As the FBI takes over and recovers the stolen items, Cameron cannot stop thinking about Bishop’s message. Kay may have stopped a criminal ring, but Cameron thinks there is more. In the end, he has something important to show to his brother.
Cameron and Kay stumble upon Bishop’s last puzzle piece, a link to the Femme Fatale. She has been behind this crime caper all along.
Deception continues Sunday April 22 at 10pm on ABC.
