Back from break, ABC brings audiences to their world of magic in the crime drama, Deception, starring Jack Cutmore-Scott and Ilfenesh Hadera, with Episode 6: Black Art. Get ready to fight crime and learn a few magic tricks alongside magician Cameron Black (Scott) and FBI agent Kay Daniels (Hadera).
Cameron finds himself staring at the billboard and practicing his card tricks. He is obsessed with the giant face of his former girlfriend (Britne Oldford). At the prison, Jonathan (Scott) attempts to solve the puzzling handiwork of the Femme Fatale (Stephanie Corneliussen).
Elsewhere, a supermodel discovers her bodyguard beaten and lying broken on her apartment floor. Back at the Archive, Jordan (Justin Chon), Gunter (Vinnie Jones), and Dina (Lenora Crichlow) are working together to distract Cameron from reading about the break-in. Kay walks in and loudly mentions she is investigating the break-in.
During the interrogation, Kay notices Cameron is trying to flirt back with his former ex. They actually broke up because he kept his brother a secret. Cameron’s heart breaks just when his ex introduces him to her new lover (Jesse Bradford), a tech genius.
Elsewhere, Mike Alvarez (Amaury Nolasco) is called in for a favor. Dina needs his help to pay a visit the prison and gives a heavy book to Jonathan. Mike notices Dina is acting nervously around the two and realizes there is past history there.
His ex’s assistant may have been involved in the break-in. Just when Cameron and Kay are asking questions, the supermodel is suddenly kidnapped during her photo shoot. At the crime scene, Gunter mentions this trick may have something to do with the Black Arts.
Meanwhile, Jordan and Gunter are out on the streets looking for the Black Arts technician. Cameron and Kay take their investigation to the tech genius’ office. Kay notices the tech genius is yelling at his co-worker Izzy (Joshua Harto). The tech genius reveals he has been sent a message by the kidnapper.
The kidnapper wants the prototype the tech genius has been working on. Unfortunately, the prototype doesn’t even work. Cameron has to use his magic to fool the kidnapper and rescue his former lover.
During the rescue mission, Cameron and the tech genius make their deal, but the kidnapper tricked them. The supermodel is actually in the speeding car heading towards the crash. Cameron makes a last ditch attempt and jumps on top of the moving car.
While Kay and Mike arrest Izzy, the tech genius saves the day and stops the car, rescuing the his girlfriend. Cameron says his goodbye to his former ex, telling her it’s time he disappears.
Back at the prison, Jonathan has been working nonstop to solve the puzzle. Just when he makes a major breakthrough, Jonathan steals the cell from a guard and makes an urgent call. His brother is the Femme Fatale’s next target and she has already set up her trap.
Deception continues next Tuesday, April 29th, at 10pm and then returns on Sunday at 10pm on ABC.
