TNT continues Season 3 of their compelling crime drama, Animal Kingdom, starring Shawn Hatosy and Ellen Barkin, with Episode 12: Homecoming. With Smurf (Barkin) out from prison, can her boys continue their living through armed robberies without her?
With Lena (Aamya Deva Keroles) coming back, Pope is actually thinking of ways to murder his mother, Smurf. Deran (Jake Weary) isn’t so surprised Pope wants to get rid of her to do that. Smurf though has something on her mind when she discovers her property in Carlsbad has been sold.
Smurf accuses her attorney, Morgan (Laura San Giacomo) of selling her Carlsbad property to a holding company. Morgan confesses to Smurf that J had come to her last week about setting up holding companies. J (Finn Cole) was actually watching Smurf and Morgan the entire time.
After kidnapping Morgan, J starts chumming the waters. After a brief scuffle, J stabs Morgan in the leg before throwing her overboard. J returns back home on his boat after feeding the lawyer to the sharks.
Frankie (Dichen Lachman) surprises Craig at the beach by bringing him a fancy suit. They end up at a rich and swanky party hosted by Colin. Craig notices Frankie is talking with a different accent and he has to pretend to know a lot about paintings.
Craig (Ben Robson) does know it’s hard to fence someone’s art collection. But that wasn’t Frankie’s plan all along. She needed his help to ge to the wine cellar. The booze in the cellar is actually worth $400k.
While Smurf tells Deran that Pope was losing it again, Pope and Lena have a heart-to-heart talk. Lena admits she likes her foster family and wants to be sisters with Bella. She then confesses to Pope, “I make you sad.”
After Pope recalls Baz and Catherine’s kindness when he was a troubled kid, Lena takes his hand in hers. Pope asks one last thing from her, “Can I have a hug?”
Elsewhere, J reveals to Mia (Sohvi Rodriguez) that he bought a place for them. Mia is suspicious at first though. I J says he needs someone outside the Cody family that he could trust.
Smurf acknowledges it’s her fault that Pope has been kidnapped. Lucy decides to send her a text, giving directions to their meeting point. She has to meet with Lucy alone because everything has changed; her brother is dead.
During their meeting, Pope tells Smurf that Lena will continue living with her foster family. She’s better off with them. Smurf will let that happen under one condition.
Keeping Baz’s murder a secret from the others, Pope agrees to move back in at the house with Smurf.
Animal Kingdom continues on TNT every Tuesday at 9pm.
