After the cliff-hanging events of the season premiere, NBC continues Blindspot Season 3 with Episode 2: Enemy Bag of Tricks. Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) are back together solving the cases behind the mystery tattoos.
Tasha (Audrey Esparza), Edgar Reade (Rob Brown), and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) are all at the lab, figuring out which of Jane’s tattoos they should pick. Elsewhere, Jane and Kurt are trying to work out the kinks of living together. Jane is still keeping a secret about her secret stash of millions.
Back at work, Kurt knows which bioluminescent tattoo the team should work on. This is the tattoo Roman (Luke Mitchell) wanted him to work on. Rightfully so, Reade has a hunch that his former boss is keeping something from the team, but he keeps second-guessing himself.
Finally solving the mystery of the tattoo, the team ends up in the crossfire with mercenaries. Kurt saves Reade from getting shot in the head. They end up chasing after the mercenaries, who have stolen a black box from a fallen satellite.
At the lab, Patterson continues to be mean and demanding over Stuart (Jordan Johnson-Hinds). The satellite designers, Marci (Amy Rutberg) and Nikhil (Sathya Sridharan), are brought in for questioning. The two are working for the Defense Department and now discover their top-secret device has been stolen.
In a race against time, Jane discovers a link to her past. This is what Roman wants; to drive a wedge between her and Kurt. By the time Jane and the others get the device back, Marci has already turned traitor.
With time running out, Eleanor (Mary Stuart Masterson) argues with Reade to stop second-guessing himself. Nikhil reveals a bit of information that lead Kurt and the others to Marci. By the time they find her, Marci is already dead.
While Tasha and Edgar take out the shooters, Jane and Kurt attempt to stop the countdown. Working as a team, they are able to save the world with just a few remaining seconds. Meanwhile, Roman has murdered a civilian and stolen his identity.
Edgar’s date night with his girlfriend is interrupted by Tasha. Jane reveals to Kurt the hidden money she stashed away. Unfortunately, Kurt hasn’t come clean about Roman and Berlin.
After heading to his apartment, Patterson finds Stuart dead on the floor.
Blindspot continues Fridays at 8m on NBC.
