Danny The Street shows up as DC Universe continues the first season of Doom Patrol, with Episode 8: Danny Patrol, starring Matt Bomer and Brendan Fraser. Find out how this band of superhero weirdos teamed-up against the super villain known as Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk).
When we last left them, Eric Morden (Tudyk) had kidnapped The Chief (Timothy Dalton) from the team once again. During the group therapy session, Cyborg (Joivan Wade) discovers there is a prophecy that says he will kill the entire team. Mr. Nobody sent in Admiral Whiskers to divide the team and mess with Robotman (Brendan Fraser)’s wiring.
Time has passed since Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero) left and Robotman feels guilty over the things he said. Jane’s other personality, Karen, calls Doom Manor and says she is with Doug. Elasti-Girl (April Bowlby) reveals Karen is a ‘90s rom-com freak and she always goes back to Doug, messing with his life.
Elsewhere, Larry Trainor (Bomer) and Cyborg receive a message from Danny The Street. Out from hiding, the Street has popped up once again and Danny is in danger from the Bureau of Normalcy. Danny’s heart is in the right place but Maura Lee Karupt (Alan Mingo, Jr.). can sense the residents are in a state of fear.
Cyborg then learns a lot about Larry and his secret past. Turns out Larry used to work for the Bureau of Normalcy and hunted down Communists during the Red Scare. It was the only way out for Larry to get out of his restraints.
Though Larry refuses to step into battle, Cyborg is ready to defend Danny The Street. Meant to be a safe haven. Danny The Street takes care of the people ostracized by society and les them be themselves. Larry imagines himself singing with the drag queens, but can’t force himself to do it in reality.
Elsewhere, it turns out Karen really likes Rita, who’s the cynical best friend in the rom-coms. Doug falls back in with Karen because of her love spell. Doug and his entire family are under Karen’s control because of her love spell.
Larry finally joins Cyborg to defend Danny The Street against the incoming military agents. Protecting the wandering road, Larry reveals he’s on the most wanted list from the Bureau of Normalcy. Even though Danny is afraid of Mr. Nobody, the Street points Cyborg to where he should go to next.
While Rita is being brainwashed by Karen, Robotman shows off his dance moves to a neighborhood kid. Robotman realizes he’s the only person who cannot be affected by Karen’s love spell. Hammer Head pops out and ruins Karen’s wedding, almost killing Doug.
Though Karen is back in the underground, Crazy Jane is back in her physical body. Unfortunately, no one is there mentally.
