With Season 2, Netflix has renewed the female-led wrestling series GLOW, starring the dynamic team of Alison Brie (Mad Men) and Betty Gilpin (Nurse Jackie). The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling will be coming for more soap opera theatrics, colorful spandex, and ‘80s music.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ruth Wilder (Brie) is an out-of-work actress living in Los Angeles. During the ‘80s, Wilder discovers an unexpected chance at stardom. She has to enter the glitter and spandex-laden world of women’s wrestling, where she must work alongside 12 other Hollywood misfits. Leading this pack, Sam Sylvia (Marc Macron), a washed-up director of low-budget B movies, has to diver on his promise of fame.

SPOILERS AHEAD! Here are 5 reasons why we’re excited for the Season 2 renewal of GLOW:

5) Ruth!

The first season started off with Ruth having an affair with Debbie’s husband, Mark (Rich Sommer). Ruth understands she truly did something wrong, and still struggles to redeem herself with her best friend. I love how Alison Brie’s charisma allows the viewer to root for the Heel, who also happens to be a flawed protagonist.

4) That Twist!

At first, he thought she had a stalker/crush on him! In actuality, Sam (Macron) put his filmmaking career on hold after discovering he had a daughter! I loved Britt Baron’s portrayal of the sweet and rebellious Justine Biagi. I’m very interested with how the show will develop the relationship between Sam and Justine.

3) Machu Picchu Will Return!

My personal favorite character in Glow is Carmen Wang (Britney Young). Definitely one of the standouts on the show, Britney  Young demonstrated such earnestness and charisma in her major acting debut. I’ve very excited to see what the creators will do for her character!

2) The Pilot Aired!

Now that their pilot aired in the season finale, what will the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling do for an encore?

1) Debbie & Ruth!

After everything they went through, Debbie Egan (Gilpin) and Ruth are still unable to patch things up. Debbie and Ruth were able to trust each other in the ring, but outside, not so much. Will they find some middle ground in the second season.

GLOW will return on Netflix for Season 2 with another 10 episodes.
