After the cliff-hanging events of second season, NBC premieres the action-packed drama, Blindspot Season 3, with Episode 1: Back to the Grind. Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) are back together solving the cases behind the mystery tattoos.
Tasha (Audrey Esparza), Edgar Reade (Rob Brown), and Patterson (Ashley Johnson) are all together at the day of Jane and Kurt’s wedding. Officially married, Jane and Kurt are packing their luggages, getting ready for their new life together in Colorado. Tasha, Edgar, and Patterson know nothing will ever be the same after they say farewell to their former comrades.
After their honeymoon, Jane and Kurt are enjoying the family life, being parents to his daughter. During the night, Jane receives an urgent warning call before armed men storm their house. Though they survived the ambush, Keaton (Chad Donella) reveals a 10 million bounty is on Jane’s head.
While watching Kurt sleep beside bis baby daughter, Jane makes the difficult decision to leave. 18 months have passed when Kurt gets a surprise visit from FBI Director Eleanor Hirst (Mary Stuart Masterson). Eleanor has discovered Jane’s whereabouts from the back of a mysterious briefcase. At the himalayas, husband and wife are finally reunited.
During a previous attack, Jane realizes someone has put new bioluminescent tattoos over her previous tattoos. Knowing Tasha, Edgar, and Patterson are in danger, Jane joins Kurt on the rescue mission. Rich Dotcom (Ennis Esmer) has solved the first clue, which takes the couple back to their honeymoon in Italy.
Over in Italy, Kurt and Jane get a call from Roman (Luke Mitchell). Roman tells them he has set up a meeting for them with the Duke of Death, who set up the bounty on Jane’s head. Meanwhile, Tasha, Edgar, and Patterson are inside a prison cell, thanks to Roman selling them to slavery. After a lengthy chase through the streets, Kurt fights his brother-in-law on top of a speeding boat before eventually losing him.
According to Roman’s plan, he has placed the poison to kill his sister and the antidote to revive her. This is all a ruse to convince the Duke that Jane is dead and call off the hit. The clock is ticking as Kurt fights the Duke’s henchmen and injects the antidote into Jane. Together, husband and wife take down the bad guys.
In Venezuela, Tasha, Edgar, and Patterson reluctantly patch things up before breaking into a safe, which contained a top-secret CIA server. After the three take down the guards, they are rescued by Kurt and Jane. Together, they ride off into the moving tank, escaping from the prison site.
Back in New York, Edgar realizes his teammates aren’t who they appear to be. Tasha knows the CIA is hiding something with Jane’s dragonfly tattoo. While Rich and Patterson have their own secret, Jane is hiding a stash of fake passports and money in Kurt’s apartment room.
After Kurt steps out of his apartment, Roman shows up unexpectedly with a gun pointed at him. Roman gives Weller a ultimatum, help him or he tells his sister what happened in Berlin.
Blindspot continues Fridays at 8m on NBC.
