A ratings hit on USA Network, audiences can now binge-watch The Sinner, starring Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman, on Netflix. With the limited series event, audiences should get ready for a gripping thriller that doesn’t ask the “who” or the “what” — but the “why.”
As we previously mentioned, The Sinner follows a young mother, Cora Tannetti (Jessica Biel), who is overcome by an inexplicable fit of rage. She commits a startling act of violence, but she has no idea why.The investigator, Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman), finds himself obsessed with uncovering the woman’s buried motive. Together they take a harrowing journey into the depths of Cora’s psyche and the violent secrets hidden in her past.
Here are 5 reasons we’re excited to see The Sinner on Netflix:
5) An Unforgettable Performance!
Interestingly, Biel was searching out for roles due to the lack of parts for women. When Biel started creating content of her own as producer, she found something in the psychological thriller to open up her range. Because Cora is flawed, strong, and vulnerable on so many levels, Biel is just amazing to watch.
4) The Former President!
Seeing Biel and Bill Pullman on-screen together is another major highlight of this drama. Detective Harry Ambrose (Pullman) is all kinds of messed up, even when he gets his “A-Ha” moment in the case. The Sinner does a terrifc job portraying how Cora and Harry are alike in so many ways.
3) The Supporting Cast!
Raegan Millican did such an a fantastic job with her performance of young Cora. From the pilot, Millican portrays who Cora really is and captures the show’s somber themes; Cora is a lost soul wandering in the dark. Another standout is Nadia Alexander, who gives such a heartbreaking performance as Phoebe.
2. That Freaking Song!
After watching the pilot, I swear the song “Huggin & Kissin” by Big Black Delta will be stuck in your head!
1) Must Find Book!
The USA drama is based on the German novel by Petra Hammesfahr. I have to read the original source material now! Anybody know where I can get a copy?
The Sinner premieres on Netflix November 7th, 2017.
